The day has come! March 14th, where math nerds celebrate 3.14 and a bunch of other numbers. We’re not here to acknowledge all the digits that were really still not sure what or why Pi is a thing. We are here to talk about the best pies you can get while the kid next to you does your homework.
So, before you take that edible, or if it is too late, then open up your DoorDash or Uber Eats app and order some of these delicious pies. If you have the diabetes, then watch your levels, but everything is good in moderation. Anyways, here’s the list!
The Pies We Want to Eat on Pi Day
Apple Pie
What is more American than apple pie and baseball? I’ll wait. There aren’t many desserts that are better than a fresh apple pie. If you like it hot, fresh out of the oven, or cold straight out of the fridge like I do, it is a great go-to. I’ll go out on a limb to say it is probably the most popular kind of pie.
It was my go-to birthday dessert instead of a cake. So this Pi Day, take a second to devour the traditional apple pie. You can even add some whipped cream on top. Just make sure you don’t pull the same move as Jason Biggs in American Pie. He should have waited for that other kind of pie instead of ruining his family’s dessert and getting caught by his dad.
Blueberry Pie
When it comes to fruit pies, not many live up to the apple, but in my opinion, the blueberry pie is a close second. The taste of mashed-up blueberries just hits the taste buds just right. It may make your tongue blue, but that’s ok you just may look like you made out with a Smurf.
If you ask my girlfriend to describe blueberry pie, she will just say it’s “yummy.” Yummy is an understatement! It is delicious! Again, it can be great with some whipped cream and ice cream. Or why not grab some fresh or frozen ones to add to the top of it?
Pizza Pie
Is this a cop out? I don’t think so! Most pizza places have “Pi Day Deals.” So if you like a meat lover’s, a veggie, round, or deep dish, order a nice-sized “pie” and enjoy. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were on to something when they were all celebrating after an epic battle with the cheesy goodness of a delicious New York-style pizza.
Let the wife or girlfriend off the hook from cooking and order out. As long as you’re not one of those pineapple-on-pizza kind of people, we shouldn’t have any issues. Well, except if you want to put something like anchovies on there, we won’t have any problems. Just stick to the basics, and you won’t tick anyone off!
French Silk Pie
I saved the best for last! French Silk Pie is like crack in pie form! The chocolate sensation, the crust, and bits of flaked chocolate chunks make this dessert a diabetic’s worst nightmare. Like I said before, moderation, but be careful since it can be addicting. The best is when it’s still cold out of the fridge. Make sure you don’t leave it unattended because more than likely you have seen the last of it.
The chocolate middle goodness is already topped with whipped cream, so you don’t need to add any fixings. Unless it’s extra chocolate or caramel syrup. Just talking about it is making my mouth water, and I’m starting to have unhealthy thoughts.
Final Thoughts
Before you say anything, I know I didn’t add pumpkin pie. Pumpkins shouldn’t be in pies; they should be left on the porch, carved and hollowed. If you’re going to celebrate Pi Day, do it with style with an actual pie. If you don’t like pie, then I guess have fun with your long digitized number that most don’t recall what it is used for. Nerd!
