5 Matches We are Looking Forward to the Most at WrestleMania 42

If you listen closely and drown out the sounds of slot machines and high rollers, you may hear “Cult of Personality” blaring off the strip. It’s that time of the year once again, it’s WrestleMania! The “Grandest Stage of them All” is back in the desert for the second year in a row.

Las Vegas will host wrestling’s biggest event of the year, and per usual, there should be plenty of excitement. The weekly shows, Raw and Smackdown, have been amping up the storylines since the Royal Rumble. With all the action inside and out of the squared circle, what matches are we looking forward to the most at the two-night event?

5 Matches WWE Fans Should Be Excited About

Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi

The list could end after this one alone. This might be the most highly anticipated match in recent ‘Mania history! The “Beast Incarnate” might have his biggest challenge since breaking The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, being the ONE in 21-1 at the time. Now, this time, he will face off against the most intimidating “rookie” since, well, himself over twenty years ago.

The “Ruler of the World,” Sid, may be going into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame, but the other “Ruler,” Oba Femi, has shown he can hold his own against Lesnar. This should be a clash of two dominant performers, and we may see the passing of the torch from one beast to another.

Jacob Fatu vs Drew McIntyre – Unsanctioned Match

These two have been at each other’s throats for months now. General Manager Nick Aldis can’t keep them separated. So what’s the difference between a No DQ Match, a No Holds Barred Match, a Street Fight, or an Unsanctioned Match? We’re still not sure! Anyway, these two tough SOB’s are about to beat the s*** out of each other.

Fatu and McIntyre are guaranteed to have a lot of hard-hitting spots and could be the match of the weekend. Fans should be excited to see what they do to each other when there are no rules. The match may not be official, for storyline purposes, but it is promised to be “All gas, no brakes!”

CM Punk vs Roman Reigns

The 2026 Royal Rumble winner, the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, will challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. After weeks of great promos from both sides, the anticipation is building. These two have a history dating back to the OTC’s debut on the main roster.

With both guys being former “Paul Heyman guys” and War Games teammates, the story is even more intriguing. Will the Tribal Chief regain his reign on top? Or will CM Punk once again prove that he is the “Best in the World!”

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

This has been almost as traditional as the Royal Rumble winner facing his choice of the champion in the main event. An Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match has become a staple in the two-night event. This year’s match should deliver one of the most exciting matches of the weekend.

The competitors will practically have to hit the jackpot to bring home the title. Champion, Penta, will try to double down to regain his championship. The field is full of high flyers and a “Bulgarian Brute” that will make retaining nearly impossible. Our anxiety will rise when Penta, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, Rusev, and Rey Mysterio slowly climb the rungs to the gold. This match could steal the show over the weekend!

Seth Rollins vs Gunther

This match doesn’t have the build-up of others on the card, but it still should be an excellent fight. Rollins is one of the industry’s best wrestlers, and the “Career Killer,” Gunther, is one of the greatest foreign heels of all time. It will be nice to see Gunther against a guy who’s not going into the retirement home.

We know that Paul Heyman owes Gunther a favor, and it should be interesting if he or The Vision gets involved. This should be one of the best matches in the two nights of WrestleMania. Wouldn’t it be something if we could get a “Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart” Ironman Match next year between these two for the big belt!
