“What the Deuce?” Stewie Gets His Own Spinoff

The best baby on TV since Tommy Pickles (and for WWE fans, Lita’s baby that Snitsky punted), Family Guy’s Stewie is set out to be the breakout star from the Griffins. Creator Seth MacFarlane and Fox will have come to terms for at least two seasons for the show. Fans can expect the series premiere sometime in 2027.

Stewie is the second character from Family Guy, after Cleveland, who lasted four seasons on his own. The youngest Griffin is the obvious choice for a spinoff, focusing on him and his antics. What can we expect from the show, and what do we want from it?

What will they focus on?

Stewie, duh! No s*** Sherlock. We all know this! But what aspect of the one-year-old’s life will they focus on? It is rumored that the show will take a look at Stewie’s school and the use of his time machine. If that is the case, I’m in. The interaction of babies will remind Millennials of a Rugrats throwback. Please, Seth, give us a Tommy reference, or call Chuckie Finster a “scared little b****!”

Rugrats with Family Guy adult humor is an intriguing mix. Then, adding the time machine element, we don’t need Doc Brown to travel back and forth. It allows the possibility for endless storylines. The potential of having a long-running show like the flagship one is untapped.

We can assume there will be added characters, but who will be involved in this version? We can assume Brian will be involved, and Peter and Lois to some degree. Will they ship Meg or Chris off to college? How often will we see the neighbors, Quagmire and Joe Swanson? We know it will all be from his “Point of Vision.” See what I did there? I know, cheap plug. His point of view should come through strongly.

What should happen with the Stewie spinoff?

Nostalgia is in! Stewie should be Family Guy’s version of the Rugrats. That will hit both generations in a way that both would enjoy. Have Stewie make some friends like his version of the ones sitting in the booth at the clam. They can have all kinds of sophisticated baby adventures.

Plus, what about always plotting to kill Lois? Will we see some blueprints for the execution of the plan? How many new characters will we be introduced to? Is Stewie’s best friend always going to be a smartass, drinking, author of a canine? Or is he going to get a little buddy in the human form?

Will Stewie use his arsenal of weapons against his teacher or fellow classmates? How will his and Rupert’s relationship develop? Will he return to acting with his experience on Jolly Farm? Where in time will he travel to? And what’s up with this 75-year-old turtle? The possibilities for the show are endless.

Final Thoughts

If you are a Family Guy, American Dad, or The Cleveland Show fan, you should be excited for the new Stewie spinoff. Seth MacFarlane has proved over and over again that he can keep us entertained in the animated world. I can’t wait to see the show’s dynamic and see how much the other family members are involved in it. I don’t think we will see them much as far as the “A storyline,” but we may see a cameo every once in a while. I doubt the Simpsons will ever come visit him at school.
